Squaddie Box Training
Welcome to Squaddie Box Training which operates in conjunction with Squaddie Box (CIC ) Ltd as a separate entity providing Educational support, Professional Development and access to the lived experience of Veterans from the Military and Emergency Services.
There are both paid for services, which fund the free spaces for struggling Veterans and opportunities to update their qualifications with contemporary civilian requirements.
We are working with other businesses, CIC’s and Charities to create work placements for those wanting to engage in T-Level Qualifications, Apprenticeships, and standard employment.
In a complex employment market both civilians and Veterans can easily find themselves lacking relevant qualifications to attain their desired career goal, hence the addition of Squaddie Box Training. We will also endeavour to provide relevant sign posting to career support for those requiring help finding full or part time work.
Homelessness Inside Out (Online Course)
Lived experience led online training that goes beyond the statistics and explores the story before the street.
Homelessness Inside Out is an interactive online learning experience created by Kerri Douglas, drawing on both lived experience and professional insight into homelessness, trauma, addiction and the systems designed to support people.
Kerri experienced homelessness herself, including rough sleeping on the streets of London.
Her journey has since taken her from the street to speaking in Parliament, working alongside charities, services and decision makers, and using her experience to help improve understanding of homelessness.
Homelessness Inside Out was created to bridge an important gap between knowing about homelessness and understanding the person experiencing it.
Across eight interactive chapters, learners explore some of the experiences that can exist before, during and beyond homelessness, including:
1. Trauma and its impact on behaviour and trust
2. Addiction and self medication
3. Hidden homelessness
4. Youth homelessness and exploitation
5. Women’s experiences of homelessness and safety
6. Relationships, vulnerability and trust
7. Barriers within services and systems
8. Engagement, behaviour and the importance of trauma informed practice

Rather than simply presenting statistics, the course uses lived experience, realistic scenarios, reflection exercises and knowledge checks to encourage learners to consider what may be happening beneath the behaviour they see.
It is particularly relevant for people working or volunteering across homelessness, housing, outreach, health, social care, local authorities, charities and community services, as well as anyone wanting a deeper understanding of homelessness.
What learners will take away
Learners will be encouraged to:
● Look beyond behaviour and consider what may have happened to the person
● Better understand the relationship between trauma, homelessness, addiction and trust
● Challenge assumptions and unconscious judgements
● Strengthen trauma informed and person centred approaches
● Consider how everyday interactions can either build or damage trust
● Turn learning and reflection into practical changes in the way they support people
The course is self paced and includes interactive learning, reflection, knowledge checks and a certificate of completion.
Individual access: £29.99 one off payment with unlimited access. Team license also available.
